Relay

Terms of Service

Last updated 24 September 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Les campagnes Jappuie inc. when you buy Relay hardware or take a hosted plan. By using Relay you accept them.

Who you are dealing with

Relay is made and operated by Les campagnes Jappuie inc., a corporation registered in Québec, Canada (NEQ 1181610727), head office 770 rue Notre-Dame, Champlain, Québec G0X 1C0. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean that company, and "you" means the person or organisation using Relay.

What the service is

Relay is software that runs AI agents on a machine, together with an app that reaches that machine, and optionally hardware you buy from us. On a hosted plan we run and maintain a machine dedicated to you. If you self-host, you run the software on your own hardware and are responsible for that machine.

Relay connects to third-party services at your instruction — your Google account, your music, your other services. Those services have their own terms, and your relationship with them is yours. We are not responsible for a third-party service changing, breaking or refusing you.

These terms govern the software we ship, the service we operate and the hardware we sell.

Your account

You need an account to use a hosted box. Keep your sign-in details to yourself, and tell us promptly if you think someone else has them. You are responsible for what happens under your account. You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and at least 13.

Payment

Payments are taken by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Prices are shown before you pay. Taxes are added at checkout where they apply.

Hardware is a one-time purchase. A hosted plan is a subscription that renews on its own period until you cancel, and cancelling stops the next renewal rather than refunding the period you are in. You can cancel at any time. If we change the price of a plan you already hold, we will tell you before it takes effect and you may cancel instead. A Relay membership, which includes the glasses, also has the terms under Membership below.

Returns. You may return Relay One within 30 days of delivery for a full refund of what you paid, and you are not asked for a reason. Write to hello@relay.glass and we send a prepaid label, so the return costs you nothing. We refund the original payment method within ten business days of the glasses reaching us. A membership paid for at the start carries the same 30-day return; a membership that starts with the 30-day trial has its own rule instead (see Membership).

Send back the glasses and what came in the box with them. We may reduce a refund for a missing piece, or for damage beyond ordinary handling; if we do, we tell you the amount first and you may have the glasses back instead.

If you bought the glasses together with a year of Relay Cloud, returning them ends the year: we refund the part of it you have not used, and the machine we ran for you is destroyed with its disk and everything on it. A hosted plan bought on its own is not returned but cancelled, which is the paragraph above.

If a payment fails and is not resolved, we may suspend the box until it is. We will tell you before we destroy anything.

Membership

A Relay membership is Relay Cloud on a 2-year or a yearly plan, with a pair of Relay One glasses included. What follows applies to it on top of the rest of these terms, and wins where the two differ. Memberships ship to addresses in Canada and the United States only. Every price is shown, with shipping, before you pay.

2-year plan. You pay for two years at the start, with shipping. The plan renews every 2 years at the same price until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal.

Yearly plan. You pay for a year at the start, with shipping. The plan renews each year at the same price until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal.

30-day returns on the 2-year and yearly plans. If the membership is not for you, write to hello@relay.glass within 30 days of delivery. We email you a prepaid label, and once the glasses reach us we refund everything you paid for the membership, to the original payment method, within ten business days, and the membership ends. After those 30 days, the period you are in is not refunded, and nothing is owed for the glasses.

The 30-day trial. The yearly plan can start with a 30-day trial instead of a payment. When you join you pay only for shipping. On day 30 the trial becomes the yearly plan and the year is charged to the card you joined with, unless you have cancelled by then; we email you a reminder a week before. From then on it is the yearly plan above, except that the 30-day return does not apply to it: the trial took its place.

If the trial is not for you. Cancel before day 30 and send the glasses back. We email you a prepaid return label, and you owe nothing for the membership. If the glasses have not reached us within 14 days of your cancelling, we charge their value to the card you paid with.

The glasses' value is the price of Relay One on relay.glass on the day you joined: $399 CAD in Canada and $299 USD elsewhere when these terms were last updated.

Lifetime warranty. For as long as your membership is active, we replace glasses that fail from a defect, or whose battery has worn down, at no charge. Accidental damage is covered by one replacement a year, for $49. Loss and theft are not covered. When we replace a pair, the old one comes back to us. This warranty ends with the membership, and it takes nothing away from the warranties the law gives you.

Cancelling. Cancel in the Relay app, or write to alexis@relay.glass. A cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you are in: the trial, or the two years, year or month you have paid for.

Monthly plan (legacy). For members who joined on the monthly plan before it was withdrawn in September 2026; it is no longer offered. It started with 30 days without any charge for the plan, during which the rule under If the trial is not for you applies. After those days you pay each month. The plan has a minimum of 12 paid months, counted from the first month you pay for; after that it continues from month to month at the same price, and you can cancel at any time. If you cancel after the first 30 days but before you have paid for 12 months, you owe the rest of the glasses' value: their value × (12 − the months you have paid) ÷ 12. Each month paid takes a twelfth off it; on glasses valued at $399, that is $33.25 a month. We charge that amount to the card you paid with when the cancellation takes effect, and the glasses are yours to keep.

Acceptable use

Use Relay for lawful purposes. Do not use it to break the law, to infringe someone's rights, to attack or overload someone's systems, to send unsolicited bulk mail, or to access an account you are not entitled to. Do not resell access to a box we host for you without our agreement.

You are responsible for what your agents do under your instruction, and for having the right to connect the accounts you connect. If you record other people with Relay's glasses, you are responsible for doing so lawfully and for telling them where the law requires it.

We may suspend or end an account that breaks these rules, and we will tell you why.

Your data

Your data is yours. What we hold, where it lives and how to have it deleted is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. You are responsible for keeping your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Our intellectual property

Your data is yours; Relay is ours. The glasses and their firmware, the phone app, the software that runs on your box, the protocol they speak to each other, the interface, the designs, the documentation, and the names and logos we trade under all belong to Les campagnes Jappuie inc. or to the people we license them from. They are protected by copyright and by the other rights that apply. Relay is not open source. Buying a pair of glasses buys you the hardware and a licence to use the software on it — it does not buy you the software.

That licence is personal, non-exclusive, and not transferable except with the glasses themselves if you sell or give them away. It lasts as long as you keep to these terms.

What you may not do. Except where the law says a term like this cannot bind you:

What you may still do. Some of the law is not ours to write over, and we are not trying to. Nothing above takes away what the Copyright Act (Canada), the EU software directive, or the equivalent where you live allows you to do whatever a contract says — in particular studying how Relay works in order to make your own product work with it, and looking for security flaws. If you find one, write to alexis@relay.glass: we would much rather hear it from you than read about it.

If you send us a suggestion, an idea or a bug report, we may act on it and build it without owing you anything for it. That is about the suggestion, not about your data — your data is covered by the Privacy Policy and nothing here gives us a claim to it.

Breaking this section ends your licence to the software immediately. You keep the hardware.

No warranty

Relay is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that a model's answer will be correct, or that an agent will do what you meant. Check what an agent does before you rely on it.

Nothing here excludes a right you have under the consumer protection law of the place you live, where that law does not allow it to be excluded.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for lost profits, lost revenue or lost data, arising out of your use of Relay. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Ending it

You may stop using Relay at any time and cancel a plan from your account or by writing to us. We may end or suspend the service for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, or if we stop offering it, and in that last case we will give you reasonable notice and a refund of any unused prepaid period.

Changes

We may update these terms. If we do, we will change the date at the top, and for a material change we will tell you by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Relay after that means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the laws of Canada that apply in it. The courts of the judicial district of Trois-Rivières, Québec have jurisdiction, except where the law of your residence gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.
